About the Password generator

Weak passwords are one of the most common reasons accounts get hacked. People often choose names, birth dates or simple words because they are easy to remember, but these are also easy for attackers to guess. A strong password is long, random and different for every account. This free password generator creates exactly that, in one click.

Choose a length between 8 and 64 characters, decide whether to include uppercase letters, numbers and symbols, and press Generate. The tool uses your browser's secure random number generator, the same kind of randomness used in security software, so the results are unpredictable. Your passwords are never stored, logged or sent over the internet. For the best protection, use at least 12 to 16 characters, never reuse a password across sites and save your passwords in a trusted password manager. Create a fresh password whenever you sign up for a new service or want to replace an old, weak one. It works on any device and costs nothing.

How to use

Choose a length with the slider, tick the character types you want (uppercase, numbers, symbols) and click Generate password. Then press Copy and paste it into your account settings or password manager.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a password be?
Use at least 12 to 16 characters. Longer passwords are much harder to guess.
Are my passwords stored?
No. Passwords are made in your browser with secure random numbers and are never sent or saved.
Can I reuse one password everywhere?
No. Use a different password for every account so one leak cannot affect the others.
